How we met

Joshua:

It was a Singles Summit at our church. Lolade was serving on the social media team, capturing moments throughout the event, while I attended as a guest.

After the service, there was a barbecue where everyone was encouraged to mingle and get to know one another. I wasn’t really focused on networking because, honestly, how many people can you talk to? I was more interested in enjoying my burger and trusting God to lead me to the right person if that was His plan. Little did I know, someone had quietly noticed me.

Lolade:

I was simply focused on serving and enjoying the moment until I spotted this fine man (my words, not his 😄).

I wasn’t about to embarrass myself, especially since he seemed to be surrounded by people, including a few ladies at his table. So, I continued with my responsibilities, enjoyed conversations with friends, and prepared to leave.

Just then, a friend from the sanitation team, who had come to help clean up after the event, asked if I had met anyone or exchanged contacts. I told him there was one person who had caught my attention, but he seemed occupied. He asked me to point him out, walked over to start a conversation with him, and then brought him over to introduce us.

That simple introduction turned into a conversation. The conversation grew into a friendship, and before we knew it, God was writing a beautiful love story we never saw coming.
